Upon arrival at reception in the hotel they had no notification of the reservation This was a bit annoying and only I had the confirmation email there was no proof This needs to be addressed

Smashing hotel and the food was absolutely divine. Staff were always polite and friendly. The children enjoyed the swimming pool each day. Overall we really enjoyed our stay. The only reason I gave 4 out of 5 is purely because it's a pet friendly hotel, which we did not realise when we booked. The first thing I saw when I went to breakfast the first morning was a dog cocking his leg on the plant/carpet beside the lift, and the dogs barking during the night in the room next to us was annoying. But I certainly can't fault the hotel and we had a very pleasant stay.

We had a great stay at the athlone springs. The facilities rooms, restaurant, pool area all great. We ate there 2 nights and both nights food was delicious. The best part about this hotel is the staff. A young workforce, all working hard whilst being friendly and helpful. I will definitely stay here again. The staff are a credit to the place aswell as a very comfortable and reasonably priced hotel. Well done to all at the athlone springs.

Room was spacious and clean, leisure club was well equipped and pool was great. Every member of staff was very pleasant especially the girls at the front desk. Food was also lovely however could be more vegetarian options, as only one for main course. Overall was a great experience

So disappointed in breakfast both mornings both cold ordered poached eggs both mornings too when they came out just on a plate no toast no garnish and hard and not what you would expect from 4 star hotel to be honest very little staff Sunday morning had to get up to ask for tea and toast for 2 and order eggs small pot came out then had to ask about toast and eggs then eventually after getting my breakfast had to ask again to the host who both were very nice for toast and eggs when came then promptly no yogurt porridge and just bowl of fruit just was expecting higher standard sorry

Staff and there attention to detail and helpfulness was outstanding not too far from the town or activities food was perfect only problem we had was the rooms were too hot we literally couldn’t breath followed by broken sleep I get the weather played a part but when it’s colder in the hallway than the room then there’s a problem would I stay again 100%

Very friendly, service is excellent and food is gorgeous. The pool is lovely too. Every where is so clean. We have tried many hotels in Athlone to see family and now Athlone Springs will be our destination hotel.

Had a great time hotel staff were lovely great outdoor dining too

Maggie scored 2 / 5 on 22/09/2020

Staff were absolutely lovely. Given the current covid situation I know that it is difficult to run any hospitality business. I didn't feel all that comfortable at breakfast the first day, despite plenty of seats, a couple was sat at the table right next to us. The bar/dining area was full the Saturday night and our floor had a family that seemed to be staying in separate rooms, continually going in and out banging doors with no care for others (obviously not the hotels fault)! It is quite a walk from the town too, if you were to walk in for dinner/drinks and aren't comfortable taking a taxi right now

I cannot fault this hotel in anyway. Reasonable price and room very clean and comfortable. Used the swimming pool and sauna/steam room all fantastic. The staff from the minute myself and my sister arrived from receptionists, bar, cleaning, breakfast and dinner staff, everyone could not do enough for us, with genuine smiles and all had such a calm feeling about them all busy but did not looked stressed in their work or towards us as guests only wanted to help in anyway. So 100% to all. Happy staff means happy guests. So thank you all.

If ever there was a case of a hotel being defined by which person one dealt with, this was it. We had a wonderful reception on arrival, which was duly spoiled by a 2nd person at the front desk. The spa experience was a nightmare, only redeemed by intervention from a Manager. Rooms were lovely & spacious, clean & perfect for our needs. All meals were served by friendly helpful staff and the standard to food was excellent. We didn't realise the hotel was so far from town centre, but that fault was ours for not researching in more detail.

Matthew scored 2 / 5 on 12/08/2017

window in room broken replaced with ill fitting chipboard requested another window also broken noisy air extraction unit outside, dinner ok but finger prints over dish, breakfast chaotic chair had big hole in it there seems to be a big variation in hotel star ratings stayed in better three star!

Mar scored 5 / 5 on 05/08/2017

Staff were very pleasant and accomodating in reception, bar and restaurant. We had a lovely stay which was fantastic value for money. We had a triple room, which was a good size, with a good bathroom. Used the pool, which was good size and not too cold. Also had beauty treatments in the spa- staff were lovely there, and we purchased one of their special offers which included lunch. Again staff were lovely. Only complaint was the room was too warm at night, but we switched on the fan - it won't deter us coming back, which we intend doing. would recoomend this hotel.

Brenda scored 4 / 5 on 28/06/2017

Lovely friendly and helpful staff and clean facilities. Good food and service. Excellent value. As a smoker, I would have enjoyed a designated seated smoking area outside.

Skifan scored 3 / 5 on 04/06/2017

Definitely no where near a 'Luxury" hotel. While the room and bathroom were spacious, decor was tired and the room due a refurbishment. The bathroom had an open walk in shower and we found it impossible to contain the water - it splashed well outside the shower area. Like other guests I found the room noisy - voices on the corridor were easily heard. The view from our room was far from what I expected - it overlooked private houses' back gardens and the back / side of the shopping centre. In addition there was no privacy e.g. net curtains so curtains had to remain closed while dressing. The flat screen TV on the wall was far too small for the size of the room. Leisure centre has no relaxation area / seating / loungers for non swimmers. The pool and jacuzzi were warm. Reception staff were excellent, bar food was very acceptable but breakfast was disappointing. Location was not an issue for use - it is easily accessible from the motorway but is not easily accessible to the town centre. It is unlikely that we would stay here again.

David scored 3 / 5 on 03/05/2017

BEWARE DO NOT BOOK FOR THE FOOD AND DO NOT BE SURPRISED IF YOU ARE DOUBLE BILLED FOR THE ROOM. Aside from that rooms are ok and leisure facilities are good. Very pleasant staff. location a ten euro tariff each way to town so factor that in as well

Jeanette scored 5 / 5 on 28/03/2017

Finian scored 4 / 5 on 23/02/2017

Very nice hotel and leisure centre. The service and the cleanliness were very good and the breakfast was good. The evening meals in the bar / restaurant were mixed. There were some very good items but a poor curry and poor children's meals.

Monta scored 4 / 5 on 03/02/2017

lovely staff, spacious family rooms, fab bathrooms, really enjoyed our stay.. the leisure centre was warm, kids loved it.. bar food really tasty, only bad thing was breakfast.. not enough varieties, and cutlery, dishes dirty with stains.. but overall would definitely go back..

Sarah scored 4 / 5 on 31/08/2016

Very nice hotel with really lovely friendly staff. The meal included in our deal was very good with plenty of choice. Our room especially the bathroom was most comfortable. Breakfast was standard buffet but no menu for more variety. We didn"t have a chance to look at leisure centre but I looked at spa price list and thought prices were very competitive which is not always the case in hotels. We felt we got excellent value for what we paid and I certainly would book a 3plus break again. Sarah O'Callaghan

Dd scored 4 / 5 on 29/08/2016

We had a very pleasant stay and would recommend this hotel to others. One bedroom was very warm and even with the heating off and a fan provided - our room was overpoweringly warm. Our children's room was a normal temperature. Not sure what the problem was as the rooms were beside each other.

Very friendly staff. Great to have the Leisure Centre. Food delicious. Only complaint: slowness of service - waited 80 minutes for main course, acknowledged by hotel as price of meal was deducted from bill at checkout.

Athlone Springs Hotel was very convenient for us - just off the M6. We stayed in The Athlone Springs before so were disappointed to see that it wasn't as clean as before. The pool , jacuzzi and pool area was very grubby and not cared for at all. The milk in the room was sour . Breakfast was nice and staff friendly.

Visited the Athlone Springs on the 16th January with another couple. Room was excellent, have to commend all staff we met with from receptionist to bar staff, they were all very friendly and accomodating giving us helpful advice on things to do in Athlone. Its a short taxi ride from the centre of town, but taxis were plentiful and reasonably priced. We didnt eat in the bar or restaurant for dinner as we had other plans but seemed to be busy yet plenty of staff on hand to cope. Breakfast was great- self service with lots of options. We'd definitely visit again as we had a great time here. :)

We had an amazing stay in this hotel, couldn't have asked for a better experience. I've never came across such helpful, accommodating staff in my life. The hotel itself is fabulous, and the food is fantastic! I'd give 6 stars if I could. We will definitely be returning!

Tomas scored 3 / 5 on 13/08/2015

Hotel is very nice, meal is nice but breakfast is all self service we had to wait ages for tea cause very little people working in the morning.. The hotel is ages from the town about a ten min drive so taxi is a must if you want to delve into athlone night life. All and all the rooms are gorgeous, staff are friendly, check in and check out was fast.. So no major complaints just the driving is a bit much!!

I was extreamely disappointed with my stay in the Athlone springs. I had booked to stay to get away for a relaxing night . During the night I woke up to the sound of a noise coming from the windows and balcony door. I originally thought it was cars racing outside but when I got up to investigate it became apparent that there was a drought of air coming in because the windows and door was not properly sealed . It meant I had an interrupted sleep when the wind picked up! In the morning I told the receptionist who thanked me and told me she would make sure It would be fixed for the next person. She did not acknowledge me in any way by apologising or offering any compensation for the unpleasant and uncomfortable stay. Extremely disappointed and I would never return .

Reviewer63640682 scored 4 / 5 on 28/02/2015

Four of us spent a night away in the Athlone Springs hotel, we got inter-connecting rooms as requested and we had a pleasant and relaxing stay. The staff are welcoming, friendly and efficient. Although we were on a D/B/B package we had to dine in the bar as the restaurant was closed as it was quiet during mid-week. As a result we had to choose from the bar food menu which had a very limited choice and served no vegetables/potatoes with main dishes which was very disappointing! We requested the restaurant menu but it was not available. We brought this to the attention of the receptionist on the following morning who contacted the manager. He was very apologetic and said that the restaurant menu should have been offered to us on the previous evening. As a goodwill gesture he gave us dinner vouchers to return sometime in the future. Otherwise our stay was enjoyable, it is a nice hotel, nice decor and very spacious and well equipped rooms. We will definitely return.

Lovely hotel, good food, good service and friendly staff. Only negative was kids breakfast was charged as extra, have never come across this before on a Lidl break as usually it's only the evening meal that has a charge. Otherwise we enjoyed our stay.

We recently stayed in Athlone Springs which was a very pleasant experience. The staff were efficient and friendly, rooms were nicely decorated and we were given inter-connecting rooms as requested, the only fault we found was a broken shower head and a bulb needing replacement which we reported on our departure. The food for dinner was v good, nicely presented and had adequate portions but breakfast was disappointing as I had to ask for a bowl of muesli even though it was listed on the menu and there was no fresh fruits to add to cereal ie prunes, bananas etc. Overall we enjoyed our visit, would return but would appreciate a fuller buffet next time for breakfast!

Louise scored 4 / 5 on 25/08/2014

I was pleased the hotel read my booking information as we were allocated a disabled bathroom - very helpful. The single beds for a 'twin' booking I felt were small but I think were to allow wheelchair access (which we didn't need) Restaurant was very pleasant & all staff very helpful & accommodating. Spa & pool very nice as well. Very very busy with families. I reported hairdryer not working and this was not acted upon but a small criticism of what was a pleasant stay.

Brian scored 3 / 5 on 16/08/2014

Hotel very nice and food was good. Our room had a locked window which could not be opened. We were offered 2 fans one of which was dangerous because it had no grille. This room was not fit for use during summer time. We were given a mere €20 discount by hotel. Staff were all very nice and helpful, but surely this room was in breach or fire regs and H & S?

Kim scored 5 / 5 on 05/08/2014

I cannot praise this hotel and its staff enough. Where to start...... On arrival when checking in the reception staff where so helpful and friendly, explaining the layout of the hotel, restaurant times and kids club times. When finished I knew very well that I could return with any queries to a very helpful, friendly and accommodating staff. The décor of the hotel stands out straight away as bright, vibrant and very modern. The rooms are laid out brilliantly and very bright and airy. I had requested a cot when booking and sure enough there was one ready and waiting (assembled with linen). The kids were anxious to use the kids club so we went to sign them up. There were 2 very friendly young ladies there to explain to us about the kids club and our 2 boys were extremely happy. They used this club every day and loved it. I cannot recommend nor praise the young people who run this club enough (it made our kids holidays). The pool is lovely, perfect temperature and kept very well and clean. We had booked a family deal which included a 2 course evening meal on one evening. The first night we ate in the bar and the food was amazing, very well presented and waiting staff very friendly and accommodating. My husband ordered the chicken and was informed that with it being cooked fresh it could take about 15 mins which we were fine with and was definitely worth the wait. The second night we used our voucher in the restaurant and it was again a fabulous meal. The staff just couldn't do enough. The breakfast was brilliant on each morning of our stay. It was always very fresh and plenty available. The General Manager was around at all times ensuring everyone was being looked after and he done an amazing job. I cannot recommend this hotel enough for families. On reading some reviews I was a bit doubtful but I will definitely be returning. Thank you Michael Hanley and Staff - We will see you soon xxxxxxxx Just on another note - If travelling with young children Gleender Pet Farm is about 10 minutes away by car and is well worth a visit.

Thank you for the opportunity to rate my recent stay with Athlone Springs Hotel. It is a fine hotel and the staff were very pleasant. Whilst my sister and I went for our evening meal we were reminded which package we were on which was grand, but unfortunately they were not aware that we are both on a Gluten Free Diet which to us was vital information. This was specified when booking our stay. Hence, the bread that arrived was not gluten free, although they did rectify this. Also the menu didn't state which options were gluten free which is the norm in many places now. Having said that the waitress did return to inform us of our options. At breakfast, we had to ask for the gluten free choice as there was nothing left out so we could help ourselves without highlighting our request. This was sorted when we asked. The bedroom was spacious and clean though I would have loved to have had a bath which is one of the luxuries when staying away. The shower curtain didn't quite reach the shower tray and so the water went everywhere on the floor which could have been a safety hazard. We also used the swimming pool facilities and enjoyed it. A ringer for the swimming gear would have helped though there were plastic bags there, but we couldn't hang them over the bath to dry as there was none. Whilst these are just comments / observations, we did enjoy our stay.

Stayed at this hotel recently was ok but wouldn't be rushing back it's a modern hotel but feel in parts of the hotel especially along the corridors need a bit of attention the corridors are very dark and the walls and skirting need a lick of paint . We stayed in a family room 2adults & 3 children which was very small but clean the weather was very humid at the time and heat in room was unbearable because no airconditioning had to get a fan from reception which helped . The staff were very pleasant and the breakfast was ok .

Nice hotel, very friendly staff, breakfast very good. Not a particularly nice location but handy for the motorway. Some of the hallways were very dark. Room bright and clean and spacious, pool and dressing rooms clean. Would stay again.

Handy if you need to be in that part of the country Reception staff were warm and friendly and lovely to deal with nice welcome from the ladies at reception. Rooms lovely and clean, but a little dated needs a good lick of paint like the rest of the public areas in this hotel. Bar quiet small and the seats need a good cleaning both in bar and in the dining room Swimming pool needed a good cleaning, walls were a bit slimey, also towels a bit dated. Staff lovely if not very well informed if asked if fish was cod by a guest in a big group from Japan i believe, the waitress asked another waitress and she was told" its either cod or pollock i dont know, just tell them its cod everyone likes cod" wasnt nice to overhear that, needless to say i didnt order the "fish" Booked 2 night with an evening meal on both evenings......was expecting to be dining in the hotel dining room both nights but was told on 2nd evening that the General manager closed the Dining room as only 30 people were booked in that evening and they could use the bar food if they wanted food......well i wanted to eat in the restaurant/dining room and to eat from that menu but was told no can do and was handed the bar food menu and shown to a table with dirty paper napkins and the tables on both sides of me filty dirty......This let this otherwise nice hotel down in my books Nice and cheap not a 4star as i expected, i wont be returning again sadly.

I enjoyed my stay at the Athlone Springs Hotel, however was disappointed to find out on arrival that the restaurant was closed as I had paid in advance, as part of a deal, to avail of the restaurant. Also I was disappointed with the shower facility in the hotel (i.e. continued to over flow while being used).

Vanessa scored 3 / 5 on 26/05/2014

Unfortunately, my review is not favourable! I have two complaints. Our main course was over done and not enjoyable - Lamb Shank , which was a pity. Also , we were unable to get to sleep until after 1 am due to the noise - screaming and shouting coming from an event ( Graduation ) that was been held in the hotel that night which we should have been informed about. Also we requested a quiet room in quiet location but were on second floor at front of hotel near noise from graduation. Lastly, the finish in rooms and bathroom was not to 4 star standard, would rate as 3 star. We were disappointed.

This is a very nice hotel, beautiful reception, bar & restaurant & the food was fab. Entertainment was excellent in the bar & we had a great night & fantastic breakfast the next morning. However, this was a birthday treat for my mum & I specifically requested the nicest room available. The room was extremely out-dated, old fashioned, very dark with only lamps to light it & in serious need of updating. The bathroom was beautiful & modern though & the only place we had enough light to get ourselves ready to go out. I did try to upgrade but there was no upgrade available that night. I would stay again as we had a great time, but only if I could be guaranteed a nicer room, especially when it was requested in advance. The staff were all excellent in the hotel, couldn't have been nicer. All in all very good value for what we paid.

Staff were great, very helpful, and attentive. food and drinks great. entertainment on sunday night was great. Room was clean, but curtains had drink stains and cig burns on them. Hairdryer not working, shower leaking all over floor, grout missing between tiles in shower room. not a good look. when we stayed there was 3 hen partys - a bit noisy at times. the carpets and woodwork throughout hotel needs to be cleaned, the seats in the bar and restaurant are stained and need to be recovered or cleaned . overall impression is they are too busy to pay attention to detail. which is a pity as the staff are great.

We stayed in the Athlone Springs Hotel this Easter - me, my husband and small daughter. We weren't too impressed by the hotel surroundings - it's right beside a main road in sort of industrial estate, you couldn't say it was exactly picturesque location. The hotel inside was nice though, nice spacious room, bathroom, lobby and bar, all looked nice - except we thought there were lots of stains on everything - bed spread in our room was dirty and chairs in the lobby and restaurant were also full of stains. I guess it was the material they were made from, not exactly easy to wash, but it was off putting to be completely honest. Dinner in the restaurant was nice, and breakfast was good also. It would be a good idea to have some sort of children play area on the premises as lots of kids were just running on the road in front of the hotel and we didn't find anything for our 2.5 year old to do except swimming. It would be good to have something else. Staff were extremely nice, helpful and friendly - I was very impressed by that and it was really lovely. To summarize, the hotel was good value for what we paid I thought, the only let downs were the location itself and the dirt on the chairs and our bed spread, that was really off putting and it ruined the overall hotel impression for me personally.

http://www.tripadvisor.ie/ShowUserReviews-g212091-d668984-r199428694-Athlone_Springs_Hotel-Athlone_County_Westmeat.html OK I don't want to be negative, But I have to say The Athlone springs needs a lot to be desired. The staff ware friendly enough, The lobby was nice, The building is a relatively new one, So Why the negativity? The Room was nice, The same old room that You get in every hotel, Just not as clean, Not dirty, Just not up to scratch. Cigarette burns on the curtains looked old. The bathroom was old, Floor not clean from the previous occupant, leaky glass on the stand up shower meant that water went trough to the floor, The lack of a shower curtain meant that the towels got socked. The room lighting was dim, No option to turn on a main light. gave a dim look to the room. The pool area was not nice at all, the staff member throwing a bucket of what I can only assume was Chlorine in the opposite end, was off putting, The steam room was Cold, If it was out of order a sign to say so would have been nice. The sauna had benches that ware a few years overdue for basic maintenance. ( Looking at splinters when You are in swimming shorts is very worrying ) The food in the restaurant , while quite nice, was served up very late, with the added "Ill bring the Veg in a moment" that never came, I assume my order was lost as I had to order desert twice, and was left an extra 20 mins just to get that. And when I went to pay, The bill bore no reflection on what it should have been,The Meal was included in My stay, But I was firstly told the bill was €50, a lot for Two beers, But it was sorted before I left. I didn't complain to anyone in the hotel because if the staff cant already see the problems in the hotel, Its not My job to tell them. This should be a better Hotel, You have the staff, The the location. You just have to put a little effort into it. It Just felt Tired, Not Old but Tired. Stayed March 2014, travelled as a couple

I had booked a twin room in advance. when I arrived at the hotel I was directly across the hall from a hen party. I rang down to reception and they kindly moved us to another room. The room was very spacious and very clean. The service in the bar was poor as there seemed to be several waiters walking around with nothing to do and didn't seem interested in taking any order for drinks. The bar food was really nice but some work needs to be done on making cocktails from scratch and not from a mixer bottle. Over all the stay was really nice and Mark in reception was exceptional. I would recommend this hotel to a friend for a short weekend stay.

Hotel staff were very friendly and were able to assist me with an early check-in as requested. I was staying there on a Saturday and was woken early Sunday morning (Baring in mind I had been at a wedding the night before) with the staff power hosing the hotel. Not a great way to be woken and it was that loud that it was impossible to get back to sleep.

This was the best experience I have had in an Irish hotel. The staff could not do enough for us. We had a very enjoyable meal in the restaurant the food was excellent. Go for the Steak it was really good. The bar had a very welcoming atmosphere and the lads behind the bar are a massive asset to the hotel. Even when we were leaving the next morning the cleaning staff checked if everything was ok and made a point of thanking us for staying. Thanks to all of the staff keep up the good work.

Location on the outskirts of the town may not be ideal but was fine for our purposes. Busy but efficient hotel, plenty of staff. There was a mix-up with the pricing on our booking but it was dealt with courteously by the desk staff. Good musicians in the bar on the Saturday night. The only quibble would be with the lighting in the bedrooms and bathrooms, it's really not sufficient for applying make-up.

Hotel was lovely, but a bit far out of town and not much else to do around it's location. Hotel rooms very spacious and bright. Food was lovely but menu which applied to our deal was very repetitive. Staff very friendly and helpful. Would recommend this hotel if you are looking for somewhere quite, but if you like to be within walking distance of the town this hotel is not for you.

Very friendly and helpful staff. Enjoyed stay. Enjoyed pool also. Food very good and tasty. Only one small problem, the motors outside rooms 203 & 201 very noisy at night. Extra glazing unit that could be slid closed at night would help the problem. Other than that we really enjoyed our relaxing stay in the hotel. BB

I stayed here last Friday night on my own with my 3 children. I was very happy with everything. 2 of my children have autism and it can be difficult eating in restaurants with them. We could order room service from the bar menu at no extra cost which was brilliant. Staff were very friendly and helpful. We visited the pool which was lovely. The only thing was that there was no playgrounds or kids room but as we only stayed 1 night it didn't make any difference- we were breaking a long journey. I would definitely stay again with the children for a night but not really on a holiday basis. But if I was without the children I would definitely have a weekend there.

Joe scored 3 / 5 on 19/04/2013

The hotel was comfortable without being spectacular. Breakfast was good, leisure facilities ok but look a bit dated, they could do with painting and cleaning up a bit. The most frustrating point about my stay was the fact we had to eat dinner in the bar, as the restaurant was closed (I don't know why! ). This was not highlighted when I booked and certainly should be, as i'm sure most people when they book a dinner package, expect to eat in a restaurant!! The staff were very pleasant and helpful, but the eating arrangements and the lack of information about these arrangements needs to be addressed.

The hotel was very nice, the staff very efficient and helpful. Our rooms were clean and spacious with nice modern bathrooms. For the price it was very good value for money. Breakfast was more than adequate with plenty of choice. We ate in the bar - the food was at best average. The spa treatments were nice and well executed but the lack of anywhere to chill afterwards was hugely disappointing - you had your treatment and you were turfed out immediately. The pool area was nice but again nowhere to chill! Not what you expect from a hotel with a spa! The hotel is in an industrial area outside the town but this didn't bother us as we were happy to drive. It was only 5 mins by car into town and easily accessible. I would stay here again, but not for a special spa/girlie weekend.

The staff are very nice and welcoming the food is great but unfortunately the level of the accommodation leaves alot to be desired. I took a shower and as you do take off your clothes and leave them on the floor. To my horror the shower tray was blocked and water had overflowed all over the bathroom floor soaking my clothes and the only 2 towels in the room. There is no mirror where the hair dryer is, the sockets under the TV did not work, the lamp had a lose wire and each time I moved or tipped off it the lamp would go off. The overall lighting of the room needs to be improved. I did receive a voucher for 2 nights for the price of one but why would I want to go back.

Hello, We loved our stay in the Athlone Springs Hotel. We were very happy with the size of the room and the wifi made a big difference to our enjoyment also. We would recommend a break there for anyone !! The restaurant was excellent as was the food and staff. The only problem we had was that unforunately many children were running around unsupervised in the Room Corridoors, Bar/Lobby late at night which was very annoying I'm afraid. The children were not allowed in the bar area after 9 pm which was fine but all the lobby area was then taken up and it was impossible to get a seat and sit down and relax with a drink. We understand that children will be children but it was late at night which should be more for adults. Thanks again Regards, Noel Murphy Kildare

The Athlone Springs is a very nice hotel run to very high standards. I got a beautiful, spacious room. The hotel is kept very clean throughout and this is a great credit to all the staff. The leisure centre is a treat to visit with a lovely pool. The staff are always courteous. They always look up and acknowlege you when you approach at reception or in the restaurant, which is terrific. One point I would like the staff to note is that the grounds outside need some more attention - the winter leaves are still blowing over the paths and there is a fair bit of wind blown litter in the bushes. But this was a small point and I recommend the hotel highly,

We enjoyed our overnight stay in the Athlone Springs Hotel recently. The Receptionist was cheerful and helpful, the diningroom staff could not have been better and our room was as we would expect in a 5-star hotel. Keep up the standard and we'll certainly be back on a Lidl break!

My self and my sister enjoyed our overnight stay in the hotel. The staff very very friendly, polite and efficient whenever we made a request. The room was clean. The Zen Spa treatment was lovley, again very friendly polite staff. The food was excellent in the resturant. The only downside was that we could hear the band in the bar clearly, however when we contacted reception we were informed that there was a party on and that the music would finish at 1 am which it duely did. Thanks Lidl for an enjoyable breal away! The Monahan Sisters

The lidl breaks were excellent value. The room and the staff were very helpful. The fitness and pool area were great and had everything you wanted. The only disappointment was the main restaurant was closed in the evening so you had to eat in the bar area and the spa was closed on a Monday so no treatments. Otherwise it was a great stay for some rest and relaxtion.

Stayed for 3 nights staff very friendly and effecient; food excellent great value for money. The only cristicism was that the lift was out of serive from Friday morning and still out of order on the Sunday when we were leaving.

Enjoyed our 1 x night stay in the hotel. Food lovely, staff friendly & helpful, bed very comfortable! Lift was broken so though we got help bringing up our bags, we didn't feel right ringing for help to bring them down when vacating. Perhaps it should have been pointed out at registration to be sure & ring for assistance with bags, that it was no trouble? Just unfortunate the lift broke down Halloween weekend. A small negative- carpet on stairs badly needed a hoovering? Everything else good. 3.5 stars.

Excellent hotel , couldn't fault it .Staff were very helpful and friendly . Had a small problem with heating in room that was quickly resolved and because of the heating problem we received a upgrade to a better suite . Entertainment and bar and food were excellent .Lidl breaks were easy to use and great value for money and I will definitely use again!!!!

I dont think it lives up to 4 star luxury hotel - lighting in the bedroom terrible - water came over the shower tray - no toilet brush - doubt if I would go back or recomend it.

The location of the hotel is kinda weird, its like in an industrial estate - don't let it put you off though its a great hotel. The hotel room was nice, the staff were really good. The food in the restaurant is top class, there is a brilliant chef working here. I recommend the Athlone Springs Hotel. We were so impressed we bought vouchers for a friend to come here while we were there.

Lovely hotel. Very friendly and helpful staff both in hotel and spa. Breakfast Sunday morning a bit manic as everyone seemed to come late - 10.30 - but hotel should have been geared for this. Despite this thoroughly enjoyed stay. Lidl breaks fantastic value for money - maybe no need to put on menu "Hope you are enjoying your Lidl break" - not at this hotel, at Maudlins House - whats the point of that?

Myself and my partner stayed in the hotel on 9th October and we enjoyed it immensely. The hotel and room were lovely. They had good leisure facilites there and the staff were all very friendly and helpful. The food we ate there was absolutely fabulous for both dinner and breakfast. We would indeed recommend it and we will be going back again; with the kids next time.

Lovely hotel, fine rooms, very nice meal, extra course (dessert) only %u20AC5, was charged for coffee tho which is meant to be included, not worth arguing over. Great buzz in the bar the night we were there.

Very enjoyable break, we thought the hotel would be nearer to Athlone town (within walking distance). Irish staff at hotel very friendly and helpful, some non-nationals not so friendly. Kids club was very good, kids well cared for. Hotel food lovely, breakfast scrumptious. Lidl Break excellent value for money for families, hotel surroundings lovely and fitness suite and pool excellent. Many thanks

1st night we stayed fire alarm went off in middle of night in error, waking us up. Neither of us could get back to sleep as we found heat was too much to bear, even with window in room open as far as poss. and heat was turned off in the room. The following night, we got a fan from reception which made it the room cooler the 2nd night. Food was ok, staff were friendly and facilities were ok too,
