On our recent stay in the Gibson Hotel we found it to be very relaxed, staff professional and friendly especially to our four year old grandson which I think is important as unfortunately some hotels don't bother. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and it was so convenient with the Luas right outside.Excellent value for money

What you see is in this case exactly what you get. Great hotel if you like funky ,modern and different. The room we had was not huge but maybe this is because the bed is so big! The ensuite is great with underfloor heating and fab Voya seaweed products. Complimentary newspaper delivered to the room each morning. The reception is a bit like an airport as is the bar area. A good place to be annonymous and just people watch. Breakfast was perfect with every taste been catered for by friendly staff. Lunch was tasty though the staff were less professional with drinks left sitting on the bar for longer than was nessesary. The Luas outside the door makes it a perfect hotel for a city break and the fact that the O2 is 20 seconds away makes it the only choice if you are attending a concert there. All in all a really great hotel that we will definitely stay in again.

For Comfort and Value the hotel is top class. The rooms you see in the photos are exactly what you get. The lobby/reception area is very bland and not a place you would like to sit and relax/people watch. For anyone going to a concert you only have to walk across the road and you are at the o2. The Luas stops outside the door so you can leave your car and get the Luas into town for some shopping. Beakfast was lovely it was buffet style and had a great selection.

While the overall stay at the Gibson was good, there were areas that let it down.
such as being ignored in the bar for 15/20 minutes while waiting to see a menu, which i would understand if they were busy but they weren't, and they're was a number of managers/supervisors walking around and behind the bar.
On the second day of the stay our bath mat and soap where not replaced(but the empty soap box was left)
the stuff on the tea tray were not replaced.
How to redeem our free trip on the big wheel was not explained.
I was asked upon check in if I wanted a paper and I requested an Irish times, the first morning I had to ask in reception for it, and the second morning I just didnt bother. If your not going to receive a paper why offer it?
On the plus there was some staff that was very helpful, and the room was comfortable.
For the rate we paid it was good value, but the hotel has to work on its customer service

First impressions were excelent, the lobby/reception area is both smart & understated. Staff throughout the hotel gave us a first class welcome. Bedrooms were stylish, spacious & well appointed. Our stay coincided with a major concert in the O2 & while the pre-concert crowd packed the bar & restaurant, the staff had the foresight to set up a Noodle Bar in an overflow room just off the main restaurant, ensuring all patrons were refreshed & nourished. Great thinking by all concerned. Breakfast was exceptional. As part of our package, we received two passes for the ferris wheel adjascent to the hotel. While the views were superb, we wouldn't have paid the 9 euro p.p. for the 10minute ride. All in all, whatever your reason for visiting Dublin, don't pass-up the opportunity to stay at the Gibson

Combined our stay in th hotel with a concert in the 02, when we came out of the concert the weather was dreadful so it was wonderful just to run across to the hotel and have a drink in the lovely cosy bar and not to worry about drivintg home. All the staff were estremely warm and welcoming and the bed was the most confortable I have slept in away from home

We really enjoyed our stay at the Gibson. The staff were extremely helpful and friendly and we thought that they must have been very well trained. They even greeted us as we walked along the corridor to our room! That was unusual. We enjoyed watching the rugby match on the very large screen while having our lunch. Later on family joined us for a meal as it was my husband's birthday. The food was lovely, the steak lovers in particular commented on the quality of the steaks. We loved the comfort of the bedroom and the size of the shower, we joked the whole family could fit in. Although we didn't use the Luas we noticed that it stopped right outside which is useful for shoppers to get around. We would definitely recommend the Gibson Hotel.

Interesting design, light, airy and with staff who appear genuinely to be friendly and enjoying their work. I am sorry to say, as a frequent hotel dweller, that is not so common in Irish hotels as it should be. Very clever to build the whole thing around a green area with most of the rooms not overlooked by anyone even when the curtains are open. The proximity of the LUAS is terrific. Straight off the train from Cork, delivered to the door in twenty minutes for the cost of a LUAS ticket.
One bizarre design feature. Between bathroom and bedroom, there is a large clear glass window. two implications - no privacy in the bathroom/toilet and two, during the night if you put on the light in the bathroom, the bedroom is illuminated and any other sleeper liable to be woken.

Hi I stayed at The Gibson 08/10/10. An overall excellent stay. very modern feel, easy access to the O2 and the Luas. I would highly recommend this wonderful hotel to anyone coming to the O2 for a show. The only downside is that I had to wait quite a while to check in and to check out.

A great location for going to shows at the O2, especially when combined with travel there on the Luas. Comfortable and quiet rooms, service was very slow in the restaurant on the night we were there but they'd apparently filled the place in 20mins and were struggling to cope. Food good when it arrived, pity we had to wolf it down! Would stay again for going to a show at the O2, as long as I got similar value for money.

as well as being convenient for Connolly Station.
