We had a lovely stay at this hotel,The lobby area is a fab area to sit and watch the world go by! The bedroom was lovely nice and clean and the bathroom was nice and bright with a nice big mirror and also and shaving mirror which was great. We also had a lovely big bed with crisp white bedlinen. We travelled with my boyfriends parents who are regulars here and they were greeted like old friends coming to stay for the weekend. great hotel and great value.

This was our second time to stay at the riverside hotel in three years and it was as enjoyable as the first time.The hotel is spotless and the food delicious.The staff are very friendly and obliging. Thanks for a lovely weekend.

From the moment we arrived to the welcoming fire inthe lobbytherroom was clean bright and airy the staff were courteous and helpful,the food was lovely all in all it was a very pleasant place to stay,i will recommend it to my friends and would stay again myself.

The hotel was very pleasent though its lobby and public areas were far grander than the room we were in. The staff were friendly and help full. The service in the restaurant was quick and the food good. WiFi was not great in the rooms.

The hotel itself is nice & clean. Staff were friendly & helpful. I was however very disappointed with the food. Breakfast was tasteless, and the dinner was just ok - it was like something I would have cooked at home. I was expecting a bit more for my money. Was in shock when the bill came - especially when they charged us for the pint that the waitress spilled all over the table (and never replaced!). This hotel is definitely not the 5 mins walk from the center that was claimed on the website - it is more like 15-20mins. Disappointing overall. Rooms are clean but the heat at night is sweltering! The pillows were very hard but the bed was comfy. One thing I will say for the area - people are so friendly and I would recommend Murphy's pub in the town for food - absolutely delicious and better value for money!

We enjoyed our weekend in the Riverside Hotel, and was our second time staying here.
The location is not right in the town centre, but perfect for drives out to Kenmare, a great base.
The room was great, the staff were fantastic and all very friendly.
We were disappointed with the quality of the food, this being one of the main reasons we returned. However we spoke to the manager and there is a new head chef starting the 15th March, and she's meant to be inventive and food of a very high standard... which means we'll have to return to test it out!!

I would have to say straight away upon entering the hotel it was clear to me how friendly and warm the staff made you feel. The two receptionists in particular were so helpful on so many occasions i couldn't praise them highly enough. Reception area and lobby of the hotel was immaculate. Rooms very very comfortable the only downfall i had was how warm the rooms were, could hardly breathe at night that's how warm they were. Also a big shout out to the girls in the restaurant top class and the meals were absolutely gorgeous from breakfast to dinner. The only down point was the bar absolutely no atmosphere and wouldn't encourage to have a drink there. Also the fact that you couldn't get sky sports was a major downer for me. All and all though fantastic hotel staff absolutely brilliant couldn't recommend it highly enough, especially for couples.

A very well presented and friendly hotel. Upon entering there is an immediate sense of comfort and hospitality, with a cosey lounge lit and warmed by a real fire, many soft couches and a chess board. The reception staff are friendly and helpful. Rooms are very well prepared and unlike many other hotels, the beds are extremely comfortable! Bathrooms are spacious with a lot of worktop space, bath/shower and a special makeup mirror. There is plenty of space in the rooms; wardrobe, drawers etc,. The view can be disappointing depending on which room you are located in (I personally had the view of stones and motors).
Dinner and Breakfast in the Riverside will not disappoint, with an appetizing buffet breakfast including full Irish breakfast, and a filling dinner and dessert. The hotel is located more than a 5 minute walk from the town center, on average a 10-15 minute walk with baggage. However, it is ideally located and while walking toward the town, you can easily access the Ross Road and Killarney National Park.
Overall an amazing place to stay and I will without a doubt be returning!

We stayed at the Riverside Hotel In Killarney for a one night, dinner B&B to celebrate Valentines Day and our 22nd wedding anniversary. Our first impressions were good , lovely modern and bright reception area but with an open fire so it looked cosy and welcoming too. Reception staff were friendly and polite.My husband requested a quiet room as we are both quite noise intolerant and they gave us a room to the rear of the hotel but sadly it was right next to some sort of generator or fan which went on and off very 20 minutes or so. We didn't think it was too bad until we tried to get some sleep but it was impossible to sleep for more than 20 minutes at a time. Also I found the decor in the room quite strange as it was a medium sized room but had a huge black free standing wardrobe and dresser, very gothic looking but hard to use the dresser as the drawers were quite a bit stuck. Not what I would expect from a 4 star. I must say it was all spotlessly clean. Aside from that the bar and restuarant staff were all lovely and the food was excellant.
All in all we enjoyed the evening but not the night and I felt that we had been put into an inferior room.
My star rating is based on the room we stayed in not the rest of the hotel.

We had a nice stay at the Riverside hotel, the staff were very helpful and welcoming. The dinner was very good as was the breakfast. The room was nice, but maybe a bit dated, they should have flat screens TV's. The room was aslo a bit on the small but clean. I would say its more of a three than a four star, but would stay there again.

Fantastic Hotel! We got a brilliant deal & couldn't say enough about the hotel. The staff were so friendly, down to earth but totally professional & nothing was too much trouble. Quite often, I feel, when I've managed to book such a good value deal, I feel that i'm not given quite the same service as guests who may have paid the going rate, not so with the Riverside. Everything was fantastic, lovely rooms, fabulous, well trained, professional friendly staff, amazing food, breakfast was one of the best I've had anywhere. Absolutly would recommend this hotel - really well worth a visit.

From the time of arrival to departure everything about the hotel was excellent. The staff were extremely polite and helpful at all times. Breakfast was very good and again service was great. We ate in the Bistro and the food and service were wonderful. We will return to the Riverside Hotel

The hotel was pleasant and overall I enjoyed my stay. However the staff at reception at both check-in and check-out were less than compitent. I had to argue about the price on check-in and then at check-out I again had to argue with the receptionist who was insisting that the deposit I had paid was a booking fee and not a deposit. Also there was no fresh fruit at breakfast and the evening menu was exactly the same on both evenings with just three choices. I would rate the hotel as a two star at most. I was clean and pleasant otherwise with a nice lobby area and plenty of comfortable seats.

Stayed here on 4th March for one night. The staff were really pleasant and helpful. The room was spacious, with nice decor but there was a stuffy smokey odour when we first arrived.
The dinner was very basic 5 out of 10. Breakfast was good with lots to choose from.
Very convenient location within walking distance of town and INEC.
Great value for money and would stay here again.
I agree with JG shower curtain needs replacing as it clings to you.

Very nice hotel.
Extra nights had a room rate of Euros 39 and bed and breakfast for Euros 49 (for two people) which was a very good deal. We stayed several more nights. the rate went up to Euros 99 on friday and saturday nights
The dinner left a bit to be desired in that the lamb was very overcooked and had obviously been reheated and covered in gravy.

<p>Nice hotel, Great breakfast, poor dinner, and missing those few things which make a 4 star hotel. No leisure facilities obviously, but the room falls short. Poor wardrobe space, no shelving, no fridge, no air con, no ethernet connection ( only pay wireless), shower curtain, and this mounted only 2 feet from the wall so it clings to you when using the shower. Bath is a glorified shower tray, only 12 inches deep to the overflow, impossible to have a soak as the water will not go past your hips unless you are a stick insect. The furniture is quaint and funereal looking, probably was expensive but does not integrate well. A domestic or B and B feel about the room in general. The big letdown was the food. Meals were included, the inclusive menu was taken from the a la carte, usually a good thing. Not so. All the food served was portion pack, spring rolls, brie, though they were OK, mains were indifferent and tasteless, definitely not freshly made to order. The veg was all frozen, green beans, carrots peas, served with a big dollop of mash. I would have been very upset if I had paid a la carte prices for canteen food. Very ordinary three star, but could be fixed easily. On the plus side, breakfast was cooked to order, a rarity these days, and was delicious. Staff were very nice.</p>

<p>Good value for money, but disappointed with room, the television was not working and neither was the radio, there was no fan in the bathroom. The staff did try and fix the t.v but had no success and as the hotel was full they could not replace it. Dinner was enjoyable but waited for 40 minutes for first course plus there was lipstick over my husbands water glass. These were only little things and we had a fantastic weekend in Killarney but would not stay in hotel again</p>

The room was excelent in relation to the size, the bed and bathroom as well as the furniture. The only negative was the location of the windows (we were in room 222) but it seemed to be the same for most of the rooms, when you opened the curtains you could be seen from the other rooms and visa versa...</p>

very poor hotel,cleaners still in our room when we arrived although reception had informed us room was ready,curtain rail fell off window when we closed window,both starters had to be sent back because both were not cooked fully-cold in center!poor main course,lukewarm sauce served with it.to top it off payed when arriving and tried to charge again on departure!!would not stay again and not a four star hotel.all this in just a one night stay.

the meal menu for the lidi guests was different ona laminated a4 sheet just left on the table . this could have been done more discretely we made our views known on checking out not very helpful

<p>We stayed (6 of us) for a night in the Riverside Hotel and I have to say it was very comfortable and clean. We were after a very exhausting weekend and decided to stop off in this hotel for a relaxing night and that is exactly what we got. The reception area was bright, airy and spacious with its couches all over for one to sit and chill, and we did, after a lovely meal in the restaurant. The staff were very friendly and helpful and after a few bevy's we retired to bed. The room had all you required , was spotless and the bed was the most comfortable bed Iv slept in for a long time. Would definetely recommend this hotel for anyone going to Killarney for a break.</p>

Had lovely time in Riverside Hotel in killarney, Hotel spotless,staff very nice,only sorry we did'nt see those breaks sooner

<p>I found the Riverview hotel excellent and also the food in the restaurant was very good. The only drawback for me was the fact that there was no air-conditioning in the rooms. Otherwise I would reccoment this hotel to anyone.</p>
