Travel Information

Superbly located on the banks of the river Shannon in the heart of Limerick city on the Ennis Road. Only two minutes from the M7 motorway from Dublin (90 minutes, Cork 70 minutes and Galway 60 minutes) take the exit for Coonagh following signs for city centre. Only a 15 minute drive from Shannon International Airport. The Limerick Strand Hotel is a perfect base to explore the delights of the Limerick and the Shannon region.

We stayed in the Strand the night of the Limerick great run. The room was lovely, all staff were extremely professional and friendly. Also ate in the restaurant where I had the nicest creme brulee I ever tasted. I have stayed in the strand a few times and it is always top class

We had a very good stay and enjoyed it very much. I would give four stars but I burned my fingers on the too hot plates at the breakfast buffet as a few other people as well and there wasn't any drink to find in the room ( usually there should be at least a free bottle of mineral water). But apart from that it was a perfect stay. Just can recommend this hotel.Very friendly staff!!!!! Visit soon again!

Just back from a three night stay in the Strand with our four kids. Having previously stayed there last Christmas, i have to say we were a little dissapointed this time round. We had specified two travel cots when we made the booking and again in a phone call to the hotel, the receptionist confirmed the cots when we arrived but when we wnt up to the rooms there were no cots to be found. Took 15 mins to get them which is not a huge deal but it was late and we had tired toddlers.... We booked adjoining rooms and think that they are beginning to look a little worn around the edges. One of the rooms was incredibly stuffy despite a 'functioning' air con. The lighting could be best described as dim regardless of how many lights were switched on. We had to re validate our room cards four times, the high chairs were dirty, all small hassles but when youre travelling with kids its the little things that can bite ya:) On a more positive note the staff were very polite and helpful and the location is great

My wife and I had a 2 night stay early December and found the service and facilities and housekeeping faultless. We dined in the bar on the first evening and in the restaurant on the second night. Both locations were excellent. The location is minutes walk to the city centre and car parking in the underground garage at a 24 hour cost of 5 euro was acceptable.

a fantastic hotel -------- a group of us arrived on 26 nov2011 on a 50th birthday party , everything was ready no waiting for rooms ------food excellent we had music in the main bar rooms excellent . breakfast very good staff frendily and nothing a bother . will return as fast as possible for a great minibreak MICHAEL CORK

stayed at the Strand after a rugby match in Thomond Park. Found the hotel location superb, 5 min to the city centre and 15 walk to Thomond Park. The staff were very friendly and pleasant - very friendly towards my children, the food was excellent, the rooms were huge, very comfortable, the leisure facilities were great also. There was a good buzz in the bar in the evening with live entertainment and a good crowd, would definitely recommend this hotel to anyone staying in Limerick - definitely 5 star

Excellent Hotel right in the heart of Limerick city. Park up the car and stroll into the city. Dinner was lovely in restaurant as was breakfast the following morning. Rooms were very nice and cosy. The staff were very helpful and friendly. Social scene was good in the city

A fabulous hotel,great family room, great food and wonderful staff who go the extra mile for you. We had a very relaxing and enjoyable stay so much so that my ten year old son was insisting we extend our stay I simply cant fault it. There are many hotels given the 4 star status who simply don't deserve it, the Limerick Strand is one of the hotels that honestly deserves it!

The limerick strand hotel is a fabulous hotel with beautiful comfortable rooms. The location of the hotel is perfect and the leisure facilities were fantastic. The dinner and breakfast was delicious and the staff are very friendly. I would like to especially thank Trevor in the restaurant, he was very helpful and attentive. We will definitely be going back to this hotel very soon.

Very nice. Beautiful rooms, nice & clean, everything you want. Food was nice, but could have definitely been better. Only downside about the rooms is that the TV doesn't have an option for showing EPG (i.e. what's on next).

Limerick Strand Hotel We had a great stay in this hotel. Check in was easy and efficient and the Receptionist was pleasant and informative. Our room was on the first floor. It was very spacious and clean. The en-suite had a separate shower and bath. Toiletries were provided. There was lots of information in the room about the hotel and local activities. Dinner was lovely. The staff were very pleasant. There was a nice selection on the menu. The restaurant was busy but we were not neglected. Breakfast was buffet style with a good selection to choose from. There was plenty of fruit, cheese, meat, and yoghurt and the hot buffet had the usual sausages, rasher, pudding, hash browns etc. The restaurant staff are very friendly and efficient. Check out was as efficient as the check in. Overall we had a lovely stay and will go back again. The hotel is in a great location just a few minutes walk to the main shopping area. It was exception value considering this is a four star hotel. Parking is %u20AC5 per night. I feel this should be mentioned when making a booking as it might surprise some people when they go to check in.

We stayed in this lovely hotel for one night and absolutely loved it. The staff couldn't have been more helpful and friendly, really made us feel at home. The room was lovely and clean and the bed was probably one of the most comfortable beds we've ever stayed in! Lovely chocolates on arrival in the room also much appreciated and gobbled up! Food and swimming pool were excellent. All in all a great break and great value. Have allready recommended it to several friends and will be back!

Extremely pleasant, helpful staff, comfy room, great breakfast. I requested a twin non-smoking room, and that's exactly what we got. Enjoyed a 4 course meal as part of the deal. The only negative was a somewhat large discoloured patch on the carpet in our room (207) where a stain had been removed, and the top of the armchair in the room was also stained. Wouldn't put me off returning to avail of this deal again.

We had a great 2-night stay at the Limerick Strand Hotel. Excellent hotel, could not find fault with anything. Staff were very professional and helpful at all times. Our room was lovely, also really enjoyoyed the leisure centre. Bar food was very good, did not eat in the restaurant during our break so cannot comment on that. Breakfast was very good, great choice. Location was excellent - a few mins over the bridge right into city centre. No taxis required at any time which is always a bonus. Would definitely recommend this hotel to my friends and would definitely book it again for a break. Overall really enjoy Limerick as a city break..... Thank you Mary (Galway).

my wife and daughter and myself had a great time at the strand hotel , this is one of the best hotel breaks we have had in a while , we cannot praise the staff highly enough each and every member of staff are a credit to this hotel special thanks to pablo for the great service he provided at dinner and to the manageress in the restaraunt who looked after us so well because dinner was a little late. the rooms in this hotel are fantastic and spotless clean we had a lovely one that looked over the river,we would rate this hotel very highly and would like to tell anyone that plans a trip to limerick stay at the strand hotel and you won.t be disappointed,we have told all our family and friends about the hotel and we will be back again soon thanks again for agreat stay from david in tramore.

I spent last weekend in the Strand Hotel, and from the moment we arrived in the car-park, the staff were most accomodating. I was directed to suitable parking place, which was located close to the lifts and suited my eldery companion. I thought everything about the hotel was so professional, it seemed they could'nt do enough to make sure our stay was a memorable one. We visited the Aspara beauty clinic and found the staff and ambiance wonderful. The restaurant was lovely(candle lit) and the window seat I booked was awaiting our arrival. The staff were excellent, and I would totally recommend the Strand Hotel in Limerick for an over night stay or a weekend break. I will definitely be back. Thank you. Una Grehan

My wife and I greatly enjoyed our stay at The Strand. The hotel generally is beautifully appointed. It had all thre mod cons. The meals were simply excellent. The staff we met were both friendly and helpful. Certainly not complaints from this couple. The location of the hotel, overlooking the river Shannon, and situated in the centre of historic Limerick were added bonuses. It was'nt our first visit. We'll be back soon for more. The strand hotel in Limerick is a very very nice hotel and it met all our expectations with regard to food, comfort, location and price. The leisure center has a lovely pool with 2 jacuzzi and the as para beauty has some great treatments and lovely friendly staff. All in all we had a wonderful stay at the strand and will certainly be going back. Amanda Connole
