The hotel is situated right on the golf course, which allows for stunning views and an air of tranquility. Having seen every type of room available (from standard, to junior suite, to the prestigious 'Superior Suite'), I can say that the each room type is clean, comfortable, and very well equipped. The staff at Killerig Resort are fantastic; welcoming, friendly, assistive, and very accommodating. This is the type of hotel you would recommend to a friend, time and time again.

Hi. Recently stayed in the Killerig Resort in Carlow with my wife and three children. The hotel itself is fine, although I would personally only give it three stars and not themfour that it has. The room was perfect, plenty of room for the five of us. The only issue was the door onto the balcony which was very difficult to operate. The leisure centre was also a bit disappointing. The water in the pool was quite cold, and the jacuzzi even colder. Also, one of the underwater lamps in the pool was loose and floating in the water which I feel is definitely a safety issue. I raised these issues at both the leisure centre reception and the hotel reception but don't think much heed was given to them. The food in both the bar and the restaurant was superb, as indeed were the staff of the hotel. Nothing was too much trouble for them. Also, the price of the food and drink is very reasonable in both the bar and restaurant, which I found very refreshing. I would consider staying there again, but would inquire as tom the status of the leisure facilities before booking.

Friendly staff and good food. Spa was average (robes were soiled & obviously not laundered after previous use). Function on in hotel and our rooms were above function room- (loud music til 3am!)"
Would have been better to accommodate those not at party in rooms away from function room. Hotel discounted our bill as apology
Would rate as 3 star rather than 4.

We stayed here for one night to celebrate my parents 50th Wedding anniversary. The hotel is beautiful, with a very welcomeing entrance and driveway. Our rooms were amazing - one of the largest hotel rooms I have ever stayed in - large double bed probably superking size, sofabed, two armchars and a large balcony.
We had a meal booked for the evening, and while it was a set menu there was still ample choice, and the hotel had no issue with providing extra choices as we had some dietary problems to take into account. Breakfast the next morning was great - good coice of buffet and food was fresh and tasty.
Service was wonderful, with the waitress at our meal saturday night (Sarah!) going above and beyond to make our experience most enjoyable.
I would highly recommend this hotel.

From the moment we stepped foot in Killerig, we enjoyed a five star service. From the reception staff to the spa staff, we never heard the word "no". A late check-out was no problem and anything extra we asked for was sent to our room immediately. The room and balcony we stayed in were fabulous. Clean and spacious, the furnishing are modern and in great condition. Exceptionally friendly and professional, I highly recommend Killerig. Thank you to all the staff who made our stay most memorable!

We arrived at the Killerig Resort & Spa 2 adults & 2 kids B&B family deal we had inter connecting Family rooms which looked over the golf course and large balconies with great views of the country side the service was excellent and staff very friendly, not much going on in the hotel but it was January so we can't complain about that. We had breakfast in our rooms both mornings, that you couldn't fault as the food was just what you would expect. We only had lunch on the Sunday in the bar which was great as they cooked what we asked for and it wasn't on the menu... We swam in the swimming pool both days altough the pool was a bit cold on the second day but it didn't stop the kids enjoying them selfs. The only thing I would say is the rooms could probably do with a bit more care as the carpet had some stains on it. Other than that we had a fantasic stay with a late checkout at no extra charge... We'd recommend it as a nice little get away for families and couples.

I would like to start by saying I am not a person whom would usually complain but I had no choice but too on this ocassion. I had booked the Killerig Resort Hotel as present for my wife. When we arrived at the hotel all was good the room was nice and big but very cold and when I tried to adjust the radiators nothing happened. When going down to dinner I mentioned this at redception and they said the heating was oln a timer and they would look into for me and I also enquired do they serve breakfast in the room as there was no evidence that they did and the lady said she would leave a breakfast flyer in our room. When entering the restaurant we were left standing for 5 minutes and it was obvious the staff were very busy. We waited on by a very nice girl but she was under a lot of pressure as seemed to be trying to deal with most guests in the restaurant and also there was a large party of approx 20 at one table she was looking after too. She took our order and our starter (soup) was fine but our mains was not good at all,, BOTH of them . We had also ordered a side of sauteed potatoes and they came out in a bowl dripping in grease. My wife was unable to eat hers and I attempted mine. The waitress still run off her feet noticed our disappointment and offered another choice of main, we declined but ordered a dessert instead.
On leaving the restaurant we noticed there was another party in a seperate room approx 60-80 peoples and the 2 bar staff and 2 waitresses were trying to attend to their needs also.
We retired to our room and at approx 10 pm we could hear the trials for the Olympic Irish running team being held in our corridor. I went out and there was approx. 10 children chasing each other up and down the hallway. I asked them to stop and also called down to reception to inform them also. Having had no dinner we were slightly peckish so asked reception could we get some chips and chicken goujons for room service and was told the kitchens were closed sorry.
At about midnight the the chasing in the hallways started again and we had enough at this stage so I went down to reception were a new staff member had just come on and explained to him I was not happy and he agreed it was not fair and he had approached the children also to stop but he was helpless as he was maning the reception and there was only 1 otrher staff member trying to serve drink in the bar to approx 80-100 guests..
I told him my experiences and explained I was checking out and was not paying and he agreed and said he would get the General Mangager to call me the following day. 3 days later still no call !! but no surprise as the GM is probably cleaning the pool or some other job that the Hotel is under staffed.

We enjoyed a lovely relaxing one night B&B with dinner. A mix up with the rooms saw us being given 2 double rooms instead of 2 twin rooms. The receptionist I spoke with was lovely and tried to appoint us to 2 twin rooms. However only 1 was available but a complimentary bottle was wine was given to us for the inconvenience. Then I had to phone to reception again as the telly was not working as there was a missing connection but it was quickly recified with an adapter. All in all a lovely quiet hotel that I would stay in again any time!

Lovely modern resort hotel, partielly dependent now on special offers and coupon deals to survive, so it's no surprise that some standards will be sacrificed. The rooms are of high quality, a little wear and tear evident after 6 years of business. Food was lovely, and the restaurant could have been inviting, but when we arrived at it was lit up like a supermarket, no music, just the din of some large extended famillies and kids. Not very romantic. Definitely understaffed, service was slow, which we never mind in a nice atmosphere, but this was like an arport departure lounge. Several requests to dim the lights were forgotten, as were requests for music and our table candle to be lit. Eventually I gave up, and lit my own candle, found my own ice bucket for the wine, and asked the barman to dim the lights and turn on some music. This done, the place was transformed. Even the table for thirteen became calmer, their roaring reduced to near normal conversation, and the hyper children resumed their seats. These are the little things that make or break a hotel, and the lack of an experienced manager or head waiter really showed. My tip went to the barman that night, who was entirely on his own in a fairly bustling lounge. Leisure centre is great and location is serene, a great place all round, but be prepared to be insistent.

We enjoyed our stay, the hotel is quiet nice, rooms are spacious with lovely balconies and nice decor. Food and kids club was good also. The only negative i would have would be that the cleaning and maintenance aspect of the hotel could be improved upon. All the staff were very nice and welcoming. It was very good value for money and I would return again. I did hear that the hotel have plans for a maintenance programme which would enhance it greatly, a deep clean to some areas would also be beneficial, but overall an enjoyable stay.

we stayed at the killerig hotel last weekend the 22nd of october for my partners birthday, we also brought along our 13month old baby with us. we were greeted by catherine who was very welcoming!! we stayed in room 200 - the balcony door wouldnt open and when i moved the chair to prevent it falling there was a piece of dirty underwear under the chair!! this turned my stomach. the room itself was huge and very luxurious just not the cleanest. we went to have a drink in the bar and every table was full except for one that was broken ( the bar was very small) my partner proposed to me here and with the help of catherine a bottle of champagne and chocolate strawberries were sent to our room - which were delicious. We had dinner that evening in the restaurant - we were served by both the bar and restaurant staff - a blonde girl (restaurant staff) and a guy that was working in the bar mainly served us..they were fantastic :) we enjoyed our stay here and the staff were a creit to the hotel, however we were dissapointed with simple things like cleanliness and attention to detail.
i would not have rated the Killerig as high as i did only for the food being fantastic and the staff being exceptional.

Lovely spacious big room and a fabulous ensuite, it's in need of an upgrade and a bit of TLC (stains on the carpet, light not working and loose items in the ensuite).
Poor selection on the dinner menu and the chips were awful, but you do get three courses included in the price, so that make up for it somewhat.
The restaurant staff were excellent and the breakfast was very tasty.
The steam room wasn't working, rest of the leisure centre is fab.
I'd stay again but only because the location suits and it's a good price.

The room was lovely & big, unfortunately there was a very strong smell of smoke on our floor, it must have had some smoking rooms. The meal in the restaurant was quite nice although the menu was limited & I felt that a %u20AC9.50 supplement for sirloin steak was quite steep. On the website it said that there was entertainment on Friday & Saturday nights however on our Friday night visit this was not the case. There was a lot of small children running around the hotel bar after 9.30pm so this combined with the lack of entertainment made us retire early. I would highly recommend using the spa, the his & hers massage that we had was lovely & good value at %u20AC100 per couple for almost an hour.
