This is our second visit to the Glenroyal......Very relaxing location with friendly staff and close to Maynooth town. A direct train to Dublin is a definite bonus.....it avoids the problem of findind parking spaces in the City. Ideal for visiting the towns and villages of Kildare and West Dublin. Very pleased.

Had a nice break in the Glenroyal Hotel recently. The hotel was clean and staff very friendly and helpful . Breakfast was really nice with plenty of choice
The leisure centre was really nice and Maynooth village quaint and within easy reach of Dublin . We used the train which was only 5 minutes walk from the hotel .
and a family ticket only €10.00 return to Connolly Station , Would visit the Glenroyal again for a short break Thanks to Lidel for the special offer

The welcome or lack of on our arrival got our visit off to a negative start. It would have been lovely to have had a freidnly smile and warm welcome to the hotel but no such luck! Our room was standard and satisfactory, the tv could have been bigger and if some of the curtains were removed, the room would have been birghter. The waiting staff in the Bistro who served us dinner were lovely, a pleasant change to the reception staff and the food was delicious. Breakfast was in plentiful supply, there might have been more staff on duty which would have heped with some of the delays in getting food/coffee. Overall, our break was good value for the price we paid.

Last year we stayed in this hotel twice, this year we won't be going back. we were very disappointed with the food, it is like the chief that was there last year is gone and the new one could not be bothered. My sister is a on a special diet, cannot eat wheat and the girl serving did not know if the soup was safe for her to eat neither did anyone in the Kitchen. Last year we had a choice of Salmon on our dinner menu this year there was none so we ordered from the Hotel Menu and the steaks were overdone. The breakfast in the morning looked like it had been overcooked and then some. Not very appealing. Sad because I have recommended this hotel to several people and some of my friends stayed this year I won't be recommended it.
the Breaks are good value.

Stayed for one night. great location near everything ......carpark very big but busy on that day still found parking no problem. reception very friendly .room clean ,large, no problems at all. Food fine ....breakfast busy but fast and effiencent tables kept clean and tidy no waiting for tea or coffee. and good selection of food. .... now only gripe was the actual restaurant itself ... very dated badly needs a revamp, its dull and lifeless.

Hi everyone
Just back from a lovely 2 night break in the Glenroyal Hotel with my husband. .It was great value and the hotel was near all the shops, across the road from the train, which took us into Dublin in 20 mins. The staff were efficent and friendly ,and yet allowed us the privacy we wanted.I will be back.

We had a lovely stay here for a night with dinner over Valentines Weekend, it was a last minute decision and we did not regret it. The first room we were given when we checked in smelled of smoke and we were immediately offered another room which was much nicer, I think it's always a test of a hotel to see how they manage if you have a problem. The hotel has two swimming pools! One is adult only - (no kids, not X rated that is!) - and we headed there and had a lazy hour in the Jacuzzi having a total relax. The dinner was lovely, friendly staff that evening with huge portions we could not finish. Breakfast was very busy. Overall it was a great break and such fantastic value you'd be mad not to do it! You deserve it. I would say its a very good three star hotel but four star value for money.

Check in was fine. Recpetion staff were only ok. Hotel was in need of repair almost everywhere. The tiled area's has some broken tiles and the stair carpets were almost threadbare. The room was fine, a good size, and well equipped. The Bistro restaurant was like a cafe, very basic and cold looking but the food was good and restaurant staff were friendly and efficient.

Staff at check-in a bit dour. Restaurant and bar staff great though with grand meal and excellent breakfast. Pool and facilities were top-notch. Only downside was noisy fan from nearby room or extractor audible in bedroom through the night. All in all very pleasant though would bring ear-plugs next time.

Stayed Friday 3rd Sept '10. Very happy with our stay, we stayed the night before the Liffey Descent and the staff were good enough to provide secure storage for our kayaks. Very friendly & obliging staff, excellent Thai restaurant. Toilets were clean late at night, always a good indicator of quality!
Very happy and will be staying at the Glenroyal again.

My sister and I stayed on a Friday night. We arrived before three o'clock, there was no problem checking in early. The lady at reception was lovely. The hotel was excellent. We found the staff very friendly and the quality of the food was excellent. I thought the whole experience was very relaxing and well worth the money great value. We intend to book a weekend there at the end of August. We would recommend this hotel to all our friends. Thank you very much for a lovely time.

leisure facilities (pool) second to none. hotel room was a bit shabby. We could here tv from the adjacent room. They had it loud so thats fare enough. My wife and i are non smokers and we were in a non smokers room i thought. We could get the smell of smoke in our room (164) from the room next door. Being non smokers that was disgusting.
