Sitting at the foot of the ancient Rock of Cashel in the heart of Tipperary Irelands Golden Vale, this exquisite Queen Anne style house, built in 1730, boasts some of the finest architecture and craftsmanship that has hailed it as one of the finest houses in Ireland. Previously an Archbishops Residence, it is home to the birthplace of Guinness and our 28 acres of formal gardens and land surround the Hotel.
Area Information
FISHING the hotel owns the fishing rights on two stretches of the finest Trout fishing rivers in Ireland, The Suir and The Aherlow. Both rivers, particularly the Suir also have good Salmon fishing. The hotel has its own appointed professional Ghillie (Fishing Guide) who will meet you at the Hotel and take you to the best stretches of the river on the day and ensure a successful day to all guests He is also available for fly casting tuition both single and double handed and will also provide tackle & equipment if necessary, and any relevant permits at an additional cost.
SHORT WALKS - can be taken around the beautiful Gardens - there is also walk called the Bishops Walk which brings guests right to the world famous Rock of Cashel and the Bro Boru Cultural Centre.
